ABOUT MORWELL PRIMARY SCHOOL
Morwell Primary is situated on a 2.2 hectare site. Our spacious grounds provide a picturesque and safe play area for our students.
The school serves the local community and has pride in providing a comprehensive curriculum for its students. Close liaisons exist with the nearby kindergartens and an easily accessed secondary college.
Our school facilities consists of 7 classrooms, all fitted with interactive whiteboards, an art/technology centre, computer lab, library, multipurpose room.
In the school yard there are two large ovals (one with soccer goals and the other with football goals), two large basketball / netball courts as well as three modern playground areas and shaded seating areas.
Our Philosophy
Teachers believe that one of the unique features of this school is that we aim to educate the whole child and create links with family and community.
Our program provisions diagram demonstrates clearly that we believe teaching and learning is not just academic but encompasses the need to develop individuals who are socially accepted and have the skills to cope as members of society.
We cater for a broad range of interests, capabilities and learning styles.
The school expects that all students will be successful Literacy Learners
Teachers have high expectations of all students backed with approaches to support them in their literacy learning. These expectations are conveyed to students and parents in a positive manner. Effective intervention programs and extension are employed to address the needs to students. Many of these enhance the early development of student in the belief that this will undercut future disadvantage.
